Remove metadata

Drop a photo and its GPS location, camera details and comments are gone, with a report of what was removed. JPG, PNG and WebP keep every pixel.

    How to use it

    1. Drop your photos into the box, or tap it to choose them. Cleaning starts straight away.
    2. Read what was removed from each photo.
    3. Download the cleaned photos, one by one or as a zip, and share those instead of the originals.

    Questions

    What is removed?

GPS location, date and time, camera and lens details, editing history (XMP), comments, and extra images stored after the main photo, such as HDR gain maps. The colour profile is kept so colours don't change.

    Does it lower the quality?

Not for JPG, PNG or WebP: only the hidden data is removed and the picture itself is untouched. HEIC and AVIF photos are re-saved (HEIC as JPG).

Why does my photo still show the right way up?

One small note is kept: which way is up. Without it, phone photos would appear sideways.

    Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything runs inside your browser on your own device. Your files are never sent to a server, and you can check: open your browser's developer tools, watch the Network tab, and you will see no upload.

Is it free? Are there limits?

Free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. Because the work happens on your device, it costs us nothing to run, so there is nothing to ration. You can add up to 50 images at a time.
